The Aloha shirt is a type of dress-shirt that comes from Hawaii. The shirts have colourful prints ranging from floral patterns to pictures like a beach or an island and are mostly short-sleeved with a collar. Aloha shirts usually have buttons, and is uni-sex, though the female style usually has a v-neck style. These shirts are not tucked in when worn, and are also considered a casual wear.

Usually, male Aloha shirts that are manufactured for local Hawaiian residents are adorned with a variety of designs; traditional Hawaiian quilt designs, other designs or also simpler patterns in less bright colours. Shirts that are manufactured for local consumption are considered formal wear in business and government, even regarded as similar to a shirt, coat and tie. However, it is impractical as Hawaii has a warmer climate.
