Noise in Hospitals

Hospitals are supposed to be quiet zones like schools to help the sick heal and get well. We have so much noise in hospitals these days, that it is posing to be a big problem. Noise in hospitals affects the well being of patients. Most often noise reduces recovery time of patients, causes stress among hospital staff. This also increases incidence of errors and poor patient care.

Hospitials uses less acoustics or sound proof insulation like in homes because of the presence of bacteria in insulation material. Smooth, hard, flat surfaces are easy to clean but these surfaces aggravate existing noise problems

Noise levels remain the same in small and busy hospitals implying that hospital noise is problem remains throughout the world and the same noise control  techniques used everywhere Some ways to reduce noise are better doors for patient rooms, earplugs for patients, masking , absorption on walls, Wireless communications;Voice Recognition and Speech recognition,Wearable communication device.
