| WiMAX is a technology based upon the IEEE 802.16 Standard that will allow Wireless broadband internet access with a wider coverage, at a faster speed with reduced cost. With this technology it will allow rural areas or developing countries to obtain a broadband service that is preferable to the wired one due to the reduced cost.
