Common Terms - Hotspot

A wireless hotspot is an area where WiFi signals can be sent and received. A hotspot is normally served by at least one wireless access point. An access point is a wireless signal transmission device that helps to propagate signals to the computers in the network. Its function is similar to that of antennas in radio stations that transmit radio signals to radio receivers in the region.
