Common Terms - Electromagnetic Spectrum

The light that comes from the fluorescent lamp in your home, the radio frequency waves that are transmitted out of a television station, and even the ultraviolet rays that come out of the sun lamps you use to get an artificial tan are all radiation. As you already can see, radiation takes so many forms, ranging from those you can see (such as visible light) to those you cannot see (such as radio waves).

The electromagnetic spectrum is a continuum that groups these forms of radiation together.
