The novella is fundamentally a platform in which we present our findings in an innovative way. It is tilted the Frankenstein Complex as crystallizes it crystallizes the debate between the two interpretations of Mary Shelly‘s Frankenstein – fear of tech In our research and the ethics regarding the use of technology. In writing the novella, we have repeatedly asked ourselves if technology was essentially corrupting or did the fault lie in the humans who did not use such technology in a responsible manner. Unable to reach a consensus among the members in this, the novel was more ambiguous in its approach and has employs an open-ended conclusion.

Our novella alternates between three perspectives – Danny’s, Meyer’s and third person. This narrative approach is meant to help the readers gain deeper insight into the psyche of the two major characters and observe their interaction from an objective point of view.

In our novella, we pay tribute to Mary Shelly with our narrative style and the creation of the monster figure, a creature that only communicates with the protagonist, Danny. Readers would often be left to wonder if the monster is a truly a figment of Danny’s imagination or is it able to assume a fully corporeal form. While we intended it to an illusionary manifestation of Danny Warped psyche, the interpretation is still up to you, the readers.

Well, without further ado, we present to you, ‘The Frankenstein Complex’.
