There are several stereotypes about Oceania. First, many people simply
believe it is called Australia, and that it only consists of Australia and New
Zealand. Another is that the first thing any one thinks of when they hear
“Australia” is Kangaroos and the outback, leading to the belief that there
are Kangaroos everywhere and people only live in the outback not cities
and such (This is similar to the belief that all Canadians live in igloos and
see moose and polar bears everywhere).
