Fire is the chemical reaction that occurs when oxygen, fuel, and heat. In return, fire releases heat, light, and energy. Fire is a form of plasma, because it has no solid, gas or liquid form. Fire is one of the most powerful substances on Earth. It is able to burn and/or destroy almost anything
A normal fire can be put out with water. However, metal fires are too hot to be put out with water, so sand, which stops the oxygen from entering the flame, or a fire extinguisher can put out fires of that high temperature. Flame temperatures can range from 1000 degrees Celsius to 2000 degrees Celsius.
Fires can be classified by their colour. Each colour represents a range of temperatures, some colours being hotter than others. Red can range from 525 degrees Celsius to 1000 degrees Celsius. Orange can range from 1100 degrees Celsius to 1200 degrees Celsius. White can range from 1300 degrees Celsius to 1500 degrees Celsius.
