Voices of the Voiceless

Being a kid can be the easiest or hardest job in the world. It depends on where you live and in what conditions you are brought up. There are certain things that children need to develop physically, intellectually, and emotionally. For complete social development, children need to spend time with their families, relatives and friends. They also need time to reflect, to develop independent skills, and to play games. Children learn some important values like self confidence, goal setting, and teamwork by going to school and playing games. Moreover, friendships, fun and exposure to the arts are very important for children’s mental and physical development.

Children have a great impact on society and this impact is related to the way the children are brought up and the conditions they live in. Many developed countries have realized children’s impact on society so they try to do their best to create positive learning and living conditions for children. Social service agencies keep an eye on the environment that kids are brought up in. If a kid wants to work, the employer and the parents are involved in the decision making. In developed countries, most of the working children work to earn pocket money or to help pay for their school fees. However in under-developed and developing countries, working children work to survive and unfortunately some kids even do manual labor, often in unsafe conditions, without any oversight. Such is the situation in some parts of Turkey. For the children whose voices go unheard, we are here to give voices for the voiceless.
