the depositTurda salt has been exploited by the Roman Empire in the
eighteenth century.
The mine was closed in 1932.
It is assumed that the volume of underground mining is almost equal
to the pyramid of Kheops. One circular dome of mine has a total depth
of nearly 120 meters and a diameter of over 80. |
The salt mine is over 18 million years old. It has a depth
of 1200 m.
