Short Presentation

Cheile Turzii can be found at 5 km from the main road in the west of Turda on DN75.Cheile Turzii is a place of great beauty with a floriculture of plants that are single copies in Europe.

Cheile Turzii were rocks formed by erosion of limestone by the river Hasdate.They have a length of 2900 m and height of 300 m.

One of the tourist attractions are the caves: Big fortress, Bat Cave, Kids Cave,Binder Cave and others.
There exists over 1000 species of animals and plants, some of them very nice and rare.The landscape is very beautiful with steep cliffs, rock towers, Valcele stones, archways, caves.

Practicable Sports

In the gorge we can practice several sports: mountain biking, winter skiing, paragliding flight and climbing.

Every day those who practice paragliding do dangerous maneuvers.

Flora
The beauty of the landscape consists of rocks, caves, forest inobilata is the existence of plant species: Tranjoaica, wild life, or paiusul of rarities , Daphne mezereum,Ferula sadleriana,Hieracium pilosella,Silene coronaria, Allium obliquum,Aconitum fissurae,Ranunculus.

Fauna

In Cheile Turzii there are 67 species of birds including the owl,rock eagle,nightingale and others .In the gorge there exists species of fish, foxes, marten's stone, wild boars, rabbits, deers and other animals.There are present butterflies belonging to the general Heterogynis, Dysauxes and Eublema.
