Turda City
Turda was founded as a city named Potaissa and was conquered by the Romans.
Turda is one of the sixth cities of Cluj county.It lies in the Transilvanian depression.

The surface of the city is 91.5 square km.There are documents that certify Turda as a Dacian place from the year 100 before Christ.Turda lies at the junction of the Aries river and the Crab river.

 

In the north part of the city there is a complex of long,salty and valleys and also micro depressions sculptured on salty mountains.

Potaissa was the largest operational camp of the Roman Empire in Dacia.The camp has 2 streets that intersect it (Via Praetoria and Via Principalis) and four gates.The most important building in the camp was the commander's building.
