A primary is an election but we don’t get a president at the end of it. Each primary is a pre election that determines one who will run for president. Candidates use primaries to get party members and media executed about them.
Some of them also need to determine that they are electable. They may have to prove they over come controversial parts of their past, such as divorce, or show they have a chance to win the election after having lost others.
Primary season starts in Iowa and New Hampshire. These two contests are so import and that candidates start campaigning three years in advanced. No matter when they are should all these primary’s are mini contests that declare who will complete in the mega contests. The November election for the president of the United States. |
