Mixed martial arts is a full contact no holds combat sport which includes various different styles of martial arts such as muay thai and ju-jitsu. Mixed martial arts originated in Japan and is currently popular in North America. Current franchises promoting and sporting mixed martial arts tournaments include the WEC(world extreme cagefighting) and UFC (ultimate fighting championship). Current masters of mixed martial arts include Georges St.Pierre and Anderson Silva(as shown in background). In this extreme sport, you're put in a cage with a 310 lbs. beast that wants to rip you to shreds(or just submit you). In this full contact sport, your opponent will punch, kick, grapple, throw, jump on you and twist your limbs in directions they're not supposed to go. Your opponent may also grab a hold of your neck, and squeeze your juggular until no blood can reach your brain, causing you to blackout. There are obvious dangers inside these cages. In fights, there are often bloody noses, lacerations and contusions on the face, fat lips and sore limbs and cauliflower ears.
