Blogging

Blogging is what many people do on the internet. Blogging is an online diary that is shared online on the internet. The word "blog" is a shorter form of "weblog."Today's blogging evolved from online diaries, where people keep a running account of their daily lives.

In 1993, Dr. Glen Barry invented blogging. The "Forest Protection Blog" was a blog that Dr. Barry made, it was also the first political blog. Other early blogs were updated components of web sites. Blogs are websites/pages which provide links and comments to other pages, and modern blogging comes from this basis.

Podcasts

Poadcasting originates from webradio. Podcasting was invented by Adam Curry, Tristan Louis and Dave Winer. They worked together in using RSS (Really Simple Syndicate) technology and to supply prototype podcasts. Later upgrades to contents delivered by RSS's quickly followed during the following years. Stephen Downes demonstrated audio file collections and syndications, in 2003, in his Ed Radio application using an RSS feed. Also in this year, Christopher Lydon linked MP3 files of his interviews to his Berkmen blog. Lydon's original use for RSS and MP3 files influenced Adam Curry to make his iPodder script. Articles on podcasts became available online by the end of 2004.
