1. Estelle
Estelle was born and raised in West London, but now the 28-year-old star has
completely adapted to the culture of her new home in New York. Born into a
strictly religious family of Senagalese and Granadan, the second of eight
children. She was not allowed any "secular music" in the house,
but was exposed to African and gospel music, as well as her stepfather's reggae
and dub. At when she was a teenager, '80s pop was "in," and it was
not long before she was sneaking out of the house to listen to hip hop.
Swizz Beatz produced the CD track of "Its a continuation of 1980" a popular 2004 single about the life of growing up in London. Another track includes "Magnificent" A dance hall party jam featuring Kardinal Offishall and was produceby Mark Ronson. Estelle also worked with Will.i.am and produced the song "Wait a minute". Later produced another single with Kanye West called "American Boy". Once in the booth with Wyclef Jean they produced a song called "Substitute Lover" a song about relationships and how you get hurt or you hurt others.
2. Ne-Yo
Ne-Yo, also known as Shaffer Chimere Smith (Birth name) was born on October 18 1979 Arkansas hometown of Camden. He is known for his R&B song writting, singing, producing, acting and ocassional rapping. Ne-yo's successful career landed him with two number one albums on the Billboard 200 and 5 top ten songs on the Billboard hot 100. Began as a song writer and wrote the song "Let Me Love You" sang by R&B artist Mario. This lead to a contract with Def Jam and Ne-yo later in 2006 created the debut album "In My Own Words" with the number one hit single "So Sick". He made his second album on May 1 2007 "Because of You" another number 1 album. The first single from the platinum selling album was the title-track (Because of You). The third album named "Year Of The Gentlemen" released on September 6 2008 which included the singles "Closer" and "Miss Independant". He won album of the year in 2009.
3. Alicia Keys
Alicia Keys (Alicia Augello Cook) was born on January 25 1985 is an R&B artist and a pianist, cellist, songwriter and has been featured and different movies. she has been born and raised by her mother in Manhattan New York and started her career in "The Cosby Show" in 1985. She has dropped out of Columbia University to persue er music career. Her debut album "Songs In A Minor" was a success selling over 11 million copies world wide. Her albumhas won 5 grammies in 2002 which includes "Best New Artist" and song of the year for "Fallin".Another album released in 2003 "Diary Of Alicia Keys" and later that year released a live album "Unplugged".
