| Our first challenge as a team
was to create a topic that is modern, researchable,
and interesting to our viewers. We felt that our topic
should concern people all throughout the world, and
also be something that can help better the world.
After brainstorming through numerous ideas, we all
agreed on one perfect topic; global warming. We knew
that global warming is a growing concern that affects
everyone, and therefore concluded this topic to be
a great decision.
However, there were a few faults in this decision.
First of all, global warming itself has been discussed
before in previous years of ThinkQuest. Second,
we felt that informing people of global warming
and greenhouse gases is a good idea, but we felt
it better to be straighter to the point. What is
meant by this is that we wanted to bring into view
the largest concern of global warming, not just
the issue itself, and also ways in which people
can help out, instead of just giving plain facts.
After some research, we all agreed that carbon
dioxide was one of the largest issues of global
warming, and we found that adding this greenhouse
gas into our atmosphere is preventable in many ways.
Now we had entirely fulfilled our desire of a great
topic; the effect carbon dioxide has on Earth, and
how we can protect our planet from it. In researching
this topic, we would focus primarily on the solutions
to reduce carbon dioxide emissions, for what is
the purpose of displaying a problem if nothing can
be done about it? It was then agreed that this topic
was appropriate, informative, up to date, and interesting.
Now that we had a great topic, we wanted to make
a great website as well. We all had individual qualities
and skills to offer, and so we united these skills
in order to form a well-rounded website. We gathered
all the information then did all the necessary designing
and coding to create the website. Like our group
forming and working together to create the website,
all people shall work together to create a better
Earth!
