Where are wolves found?
Most wolves live in the artic tundras, forests, and prairies. Few are in the continental U.S. Places they live in: Alaska, Canada, and Mexico.
Why are wolves endangered?
Wolves are endangered for many reasons. One is because people used to poison them. Between 1,850 and 1,900 wolves were killed in 1907. Another reason is people were afraid of them and thought they were dangerous, so they killed them. People would get money for bringing in a dead wolf.
Food for Wolves
Wolves eat many different things. Some are deer, moose, elk, caribou, bison, beaver, and rabbit. They mostly eat hooved animals. When they hunt for their prey they work in groups called packs.
Facts about Wolves
Interesting Facts: Just 12 years ago no wolves lived in Yellow Stone National Park. In 1995 Doug Smith brought wolves to the park from Canada. They come in different colors like grey, white and black. Bush signed a bill/ law allowing people to shoot wolves in Alaska from planes and helecopters.
