Ringo Starr was born July 7th 1940 in Liverpool, England.  His real name is Richard Parkin.  He got his nickname because of his fondness for rings.  When he was younger, he used tin cans for his drum set.  He did not go to school much.  He worked as an engineer.

Ringo got his first drum set in 1959. He was the oldest band member of the Beatles.  He provided most of the rhythmic foundation for the band.  Ringo was sometimes overlooked.  Ringo Starr was a great drummer for the Beatles.
