Welcome to Chinese Superstitions

China's superstitions sound, at times, ludicrous but they have significant reasoning behind them.

An example of chinese superstition is; shooting off firecrackers on New Year's Eve as a way of releasing the Old year and welcoming the New. Also, throwing rice out the door is a way of releasing the negative energy trapped inside the house; allowing positive energy in and good luck to follow.

To on-lookers, all of the superstitions may seem like they run people's lives if you actually believe in them. But, most Chinese people do not believe in every single one of them, only the ones that specifically pertain to them.

Alot of China's supersititions are for good luck and good fortune to come their way. The Chinese people really believe in the spiritual world an such.
