The Chinese learn from their past, their ancestors who they love and worship often. They understand the way of their past, but look toward a brighter and better future. The people are extreamly devoted to their religion, and past way of life.

Catie is a wonderful friend of mine. She is fully Chinese, both of her parents are from China. Unlike me, my grandfather was Chinese. We both have a family history involving myths and superstitions and such. Catie's parents told her many legends, myths and supersitions while she was growing up and she was kind enough to share them.

An interview with Catie:

"The way we view history has not changed in over 1,000 years. Out life is based on our history and past experances. This like birth, death and reincarnation all link back to the past."

"Colors are important to China. Several colors you cannot wear during times of sorrow or else it will make the color themselves unlucky. For example, the color red; it is considered the luckest color of all. Wearing it during times of death and sadness is strictly forbidden. Black is worn during times of sorrow. Similar to Weastern culture. Black represents death. It's one thing that doesnt change during cultures. This is a superstition, looking good and being happy when you're suppose to be sad is unlucky.
