Portable Partners - Case Studies

True Files

This section is based on a series of real life experiments, case studies, news articles and personal occurrences of selected individuals. Its purpose is to give Portable Partners a global perspective such that it explores the subject matter from the point of view of different countries, showing its relevance and significance to the world as a whole.

First, we start off with something fun - debunking myths. Some of these myths have been around for a long time, others maybe recently. Some are based on misconceptions and stereotypes, others based on cultural references and prank emails. To select the most relevant examples for this section, we conducted an international survey online, by means of Internet forums. What we did was to give participants a list of "truths" and let them select which did they think were made up. In reality, the list completely comprised of only myths. From the results collated by this survey, we selected the most apparent misconceptions to bust in this section.

Moving on, you will find specific case studies relevant to each mobile device. As mentioned, these case studies originate from different parts of the world, from England to China and even Afghanistan, giving you an insight to the mobile device scene in various parts of the world which you most likely have not had access to. We also provide an analysis for each case and some words of advice when applicable. Nonetheless, the most important learning point here is for you to reflect on your own personal situation, what does it mean for you and to you? Formulate your own thoughts, and your own point of view.
