About Me
Assalam-o-Alaikum, I am Munazah from Generation's school, Pakistan. I am 15 years old in grade 9 and a really creative person who lives life with accepting all the challenges. I am interested in exploring new things and softwares, and the best resource is the Internet. Not much into reading but still read the Spider magazine with interest as it is a magazine containing all the latest news about technology. I am also into Social exercises such as the member of a club struggling for human rights. But that is not my scope, just an interest. My long-term goal is to become a successful Computer engineer as this profession I promoted a lot in the whole world.
When I came to know about this project, I came up with the Idea of doing something unique and came up with a fresh idea which was The Influence of Gadgets on today's Youth. As today's youth is very much involved in handy Gadgets and wherever you see there are people talking on cell phones, listening to music or children sitting and playing games on their Game boy instead of running about in the Parks. So I thought of showing them both the sides of their Hand-Held devices, the black as well as the white one leaving on them, to decide whether the gadget is their Friend or Foe. That is why the name of our site is Portable-Partners Friends or Foes? My role in the development of this Website was to collect information on Portable Music players and to paraphrase it so that our website is not accused of plagiarism. Believe me it is not an easy task to pick up information from the internet and to Paraphrase
My ThinkQuest Experience
Due to loads of work from the school side, and some family commitments, sometimes I was not able to submit my part on time but thanks to our coach Mrs.Masroor, her reminders of the deadline and motivation, made me do it on a fast pace and submit it after 2 days of the deadline. I had a great work experience with Ms. Agnes and Mr. Alex, the members of our team from Singapore. Agnes who is the team leader and Alex the creative designer worked real hard on their part as they were the ones responsible for the base of the website. As for the content part, Rida and Abdullah also worked real hard, Abdullah being really busy studying for his examinations still gave time to the content. I thank all the members for giving their precious time to this Site. In spite of all these I also faced many problems such as school activities, power failures and internet server problems, but still I was able to complete my part. Moliere said, "Long is the road from conception to completion."
I learnt a lot of things by working on this project that were, many more things about HTML, paraphrasing information (which I never used to do before), interaction with people outside our country, editing movies. I even had the experience of interviewing someone for the first time. Got a chance to see great pieces of art by Mr. Alex and also learnt about the Pros and Cons of the handy gadgets which I use. It was very difficult to search for the Information and to paraphrase that loads of information and to get the video on a CD was a real pain too as firstly we could not find the data cable of the Camcorder and when we got an alternate solution the movie developers took 2 days to develop it. Conducting the survey was not much a problem but making the report was a hectic too as it was done at the ending time, but still we got the fruit of our work that is OUR OWN WEBSITE.
