Attention Deficit Disorder

  1. A condition characterized by impatience, implusiveness, restlessness and short attention spans.

Cognitive

  1. Of relation to conscious mental activities. For example, thinking.

D-pad

  1. Short for directional pad - Flat directional arrows on game controls you press with your thumb.

Desktop Computer

  1. A desktop computer is an independent personal computer which fits conveniently onto desks and individual work spaces.

Dowager's Hump

  1. A hump formed in the upper area of the back due to bad posture or a structural anomaly in the spine.

Ergonomics

  1. The science of designing equipment in such a way that it fits the operator's body and reduces chances of fatigue, discomfort and injury.

First Person Shooter

  1. A game which usually invovles battle, weapons and firearms whereby the player sees himself through the eyes of the protagnist.

Game Console

  1. An electronic device that can be used with a display device (eg. monitor) to display and play video games. For example, the Sega Dreamcast, Xbox, Nintendo 64, Wii.

Handheld Game Console

  1. A lightweight mobile device with game controls and built-in video display and audio outputs.

Homebrew Applications

  1. Homebrew means to programme at home. Hence, homebrew application include games, utility software and game emolators. However, do note that they may be illegal depending on circumstance.

Loan Sharks

  1. An informal term for a person or body which provide unsecured loans at exorbitant interest rates and often resort to threats in order to retract these loans.

  1. A genetic disease which weakens muscles required for movement.

  1. Therapy which allows the impaired to participate in everyday activities.

  1. The division of medicine which specializes in the correction of our skeletal system.

  1. Peer-to-peer sharing within a network or software which allows users to exchange files with one another.

Pathogens

  1. Any infectious or disease-causing organism such as virus and bacteria.

Psychotherapy

  1. Psychological treatment of mental and emotional disorders.

Repetitive Strain Injury

  1. Injury of tendons, nerves or muscles due to limited and repetitive physical movements especially by using a keyboard.

  1. A device which comes with only one game - no interchangeable cartridges available.

  1. Ability to visualise 2D and 3D figures.

  1. A laptop with a rotatable touchscreen that is able to allow the user to write on with a stylus or digital pen on top of the conventional keyboard and mouse.
