Team Diversity

Members of portable partners come from different socio-economic backgrounds, cultures, religions and nationalities. This assortment of flavours help enhance the credibility and notion of our website and gives it a global perspective with current day knowledge attained internationally. Each member contributed differently and had a different ideas and suggestions regarding the direction and functionalities of the page. With subjective and objective discussions, we managed to arrive at a common vision and goal which we thought was applicable to all youths, regardless of their culture, religion or country of residence.

For perception, we engaged in international online forum discussions to investigate what was the predominant concern regarding mobile devices and the implications we ought to tackle and focus on for Portable Partners to be an influential success. In addition, we consulted various adults, whom we felt would have the experience to share. Eventually, Abdullah, Rida and Munazzah found their way to consult a renowned psychologist in Pakistan for an in-depth and objectified understanding on the situation and implications caused by mobile devices. Agnes, on the other hand, did research on handheld gaming consoles and found headway when she stumbled upon Professor Mark Griffiths of England, who assisted her with articles of excellence which he had written in specific to handheld gaming, video games and addiction. In addition, Alex, who was born in China, provided the team with a China perspective on things which influenced the structure of the quizzes, in particular, such that he was able to point to key learning points. Finally, surveys were carried out internationally through online portals, and by hand and word in mainly Singapore, Pakistan and India. The reason Portable Partners has connection with India is because Agnes' Father is permanently stationed there for work. As we know, India and China are the leading countries when it comes to world population and also rapidly expanding economies. Hence, their take on the issue is especially important. United States, the world's leading economy and most powerful nation, is most accessible through online portals, hence I would not worry about that either.

By ensuring diverse modes of cultural influences and point of views, Portable Partners is able to remain rationale and ensure global significance of this issue of mobile devices, hence maintaining a first-rate standard when it comes to information gathering and input of how mobile devices is significant and related to our daily life. Rapid improvement of technology and globalisation will only ensure that such a topic is still of universal importance and a subject worthy of attention in the long run.
