- A ten point system is used with one being the worst score and ten being the best score.

- There are four categories: Amplitude, Standard Tricks, Rotation, and Overall Impression. There is one judge per category except for Overall Impression which has two judges.

- The two Overall Impression judges judge pipe use, risk taking, smoothness, intensity, and sequence.

- There are five international judges with one judge in charge.

 - All of the judges, except for the head judge, are isolated from other people.

- The judges are not allowed to make friends with the competitors during the events or to accept bribes.
