Long ago in Australia, at a time called Dreamtime, existed many aborigine tribes praised a power called the Great Spirit. He had called the tribes to meet one day. No one knew why. The tribes were very ecstatic at meeting their friends from the other tribes. Then, the Great Spirit appeared and told them that he would teach them something that they should teach their children, and so on. But first, they must clear the forest of trees and rocks to hold a ceremony. All the tribes listened to his instructions and did what they ha to do, except the Dog Tribe. They were known for the laziness and incompetence. They laughed at the others and made funny howling signs to tease them. The Great Spirit saw this and was angered. He got so angry that he changed the entire tribe to hairy, four legged animals that would sit and howl all the time. The animal was called a ‘Dog’ after the lazy tribe.
