The power supply includes the power cord, a switch, and usually a cooling fan to cool the power supply down.  The power supply supplies power to the motherboard and all of the other hardware that requires power to function inside the computer.  It can include the hard drives, CD-ROM and USB ports, etc.

RAM comes from the abbreviation random access memory.  RAM is not a permanent storage device which you can store stuff on, but are used to temporarily store data on so that it can be processed.  Data has to be loaded from the hard drive to the memory (RAM) before it can be used.  You get all kinds of memory for different kinds of systems, but you also get it in different capacities such as 512Mb or 1Gb, the more capacity it has the more data it can process.  The most common capacity is 1Gb.
