Photo Gallery All About Puppy Mills Go back to the beginning animation Dog RescuesSome people think ALL dogs are at dog rescues because they're sick or have problems. But that's only true for some dogs. Most dogs are at a dog rescue because they're owner had to move and weren't allowed to bring them because they where moving into an apartment. Or some dog rescues have dogs that have been found on streets, dumpsters, or abandoned. If they are sick or have problems they try their hardest to treat them and make them better. Rescues are all over the world saving all sorts of different dogs. Some rescues only rescue one breed of dog. Over 100,000 dogs die each year because no one will help them. Around 22,000,000 dogs are abandoned each year. Some owners of dog rescues care so much about the dogs that they take care of them, foster them and shelter the dogs at their own house. Places like Wynn Dog Rescue, Second Chance Sat and Second Chance Animal Rescue get their dogs from on the streets of Puerto Rico bring them to the Second Chance Animal Rescue (that is in Puerto) and they get the dogs in good health then send them to either Wynn Dog Rescue (that is in Jaffrey, New Hampshire) or Second Chance Sato (that is in Temple, New Hampshire) and put them up for adoption. Most rescues are non-kill. They are non-kill because they rescue the dogs from streets, not good houses, Puppy mills, dog pounds and more and they don't kill their dogs if they do not get adopted or if they have something wrong with them. They are called rescues because they are non-kill animal shelters. They prevent animal cruelty as much as possible. Dog abandonment is getting more and more common every day. All around the world more people are abandoning their dogs and leave them on the streets to die. The right thing to do if you don't want a dog anymore is to either give it to your friend or you can surrender it to a rescue. Right now the U.S.A. has a bad econamy right now and some people may blame dog abandoment on that because dog supplies is getting more expensive; but still if you cant afford to buy dog supplies surrender your dog and if your dog is starving because you cant get them food a lot if you love you dog then you would give him/her to someone who can afford to take care of your dog. for more information.... to http://handipets.com/blog/ This is a story about dog abandement http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/424975/i_saw_you_abandon_your_dog_an_animal_pg2.html?cat=53 |
