Many people across the United States play video games. A few video games that have been released in the U.S. were influenced by the samurai. An example of one of these games is “Seven Samurai 20XX.” It is based on the movie Seven Samurai directed by Kurosawa. Though the game does not include any actual “samurai” it has taken the concept of the movie Kurosawa directed and created something totally new. In the place of the common group of seven samurai, there are a group of “young heroes who look like they've just kicked their way in from an anime parallel universe.” Through this game, only the spirit and idea of samurai has been moved on. However, the interpretation of samurai through a movie created a new interpretation of the movie through a video game. It is continually an ongoing process. The game is played on the PlayStation 2 platform. There are many other video games that use the idea of samurai, such as the series of Dynasty Warriors.
