Bushido is a Japanese code of conduct following 7 virtues that the Samurai strictly adhere to with the utmost loyalty. It is essentially the “Way of the Warrior,” which can also be compared to the European Medieval concept of chivalry. Through daily life, the loyal samurai followed this moral code, which emphasized martial arts, honor, and prudence. This code was developed through the wise and tranquil teachings of Buddhism and Confucianism and its first uses were between the 9th and 12th centuries. |
