Step 2
"Assembly"

1. Install the power supply (if not pre installed)

  • Our power supply came pre installed, however some do not.

Included in each step is video from our build process. Click the Play button to view the video.

2. Install the motherboard

All data is sent to this location to be processed.

Remove the face plate that is already on the back of the tower, then remove the excess metal from the plate that came with the motherboard. Make sure the plate and the motherboard match up before securing it in the tower. After removing the excess metal snap the plate into the back of the tower, then secure the motherboard by tightening it down.

3. Install the CPU

All processing happens in this unit of the motherboard.

Place CPU on the motherboard, the CPU will not need to be pushed into place as it will line up and fit, close the door over the CPU and snap it in place.

4. Install the CPU heat sink fan

Thermal paste is applied to help spread the heat from the CPU.

Insert the fan holder over the CPU, apply the thermal paste, snap fan into place on the holder.

5. Install the RAM memory chips

Allows data to be stored for immediate use but is not saved on the hard drive.

Install the RAM memory chips in its designated place next to the CPU heat sink fan. The RAM will snap into place.

6. Install the video card

Has memory for graphics only to leave space for additional processes on the RAM chips.

Place the video card in the slot for the video card on the motherboard. Bolt the video card in on the side of the tower for complete sure it wont go anywhere.

7. Install the hard drive

All data stored here for the future use of all programs and processes.

Place the hard drive in the bottom of the slots inside the tower below where the CD/DVD burner will be installed next. After you have placed the hard drive where you want it, bolt the hard drive in so it does not fall and get damaged.

8. Install the CD/DVD burner disc drive

This drive reads and plays CD's and DVD's.

Remove the burner from the packaging, take the face plate off the tower remove the plate from the slot you are going to put the burner. Place the burner in the slot where the popped out plate and the front of the burner lines up. Screw the burner into the tower.

9. Install the floppy disc drive (if there is one)

Choose the drive bay you want, remove the face plate off the bay to install the drive. Install the drive in from the front of the bay. Make sure the drive is even with the front of the PC. Also make sure the screw holes on the mounting rack are even with the holes on the drive.Screw the drive to the mounting rack.Connect the power supply to the floppy drive and attach the Ribbon Cable.

10. Connecting the keyboard, mouse, monitor, speakers, scanner, and printer

Allows the user to operate the computer successfully.

You take the cords from the speakers, mouse, monitor, etc and plug them in the correct places in the back of the tower.

11. Booting your computer

This allows you to choose what to enable and disable on your computer.

Remove the operating system software disc from its case, and insert the disc into the disc drive. Set the settings for your components and change anything that will needs to be changed such as startup from the hardrive, not the CD.

See software installation for more details.
