Romance in Bollywood
All the dancing in Bollywood film industry revolves around romantic or emotional gestures. The common theme in the Indian movie and dancing industry is romance.To find a movie with no romance mentioned or involved is very rare. Even though there are some films that are action or merely comedy centered, there is always a bit romance on the side.
Even though tradition has always shown sexual contact or simply kissing as not allowed to be aired in movies, recently movies have started to show some of these forbidden gestures, and broadened their horizon. Romance in these dancing songs are usually illustrated by simple flirtatious gestures such as pulling of a girl's dress, batting of the eyes and running away when it was time for any skin contact. This has been a common sign of romance because tradition has made sexual romance a topic of the bedroom, between a husband and a wife.
Thus even though romance is a major topic of almost all Bollywood dances, it is delineated in a subtle manner. Romance is probably the most common genre for Indian films along with comedy because it creates an impression of happiness that can sometimes be not found in the real world. Also some people like to see this genre because their favorite actors or actresses from previous films are being coasted, and seeing their romance connection in the dancing and acting, makes them feel mere enjoyment.
