The most common type of jewelry that is worn is called Temple Jewelry.
Temple Jewelry
This type of jewlry has been worn since the time of classical Indian dance, during which time the jewlry consisted of pure gold encrusted with rubies and pearls. These were usually seen on temple dancers, which lends to its name.in today's dancing, temple jewlry is usually made from other types of metals and then plated with gold to make it less expensive but maintain its beauty. One can see examples of this type of jewelry imitaing various things, such as mangoes and peacocks. It is very common for a woman to wear a bounty of accessories including a earset, headset, necklaces, and even a waist belt. An important accessry that not only lends itself to being a beautiful piece of jewelry, bells are usually atached to anklets or bracelets, and help the dancer keep the beat, and serve as a wonderful addition to the music. For men, the jewellery is quite similar, although they do not wear a headset. In addition, their earset is more simplistic, usually merely a stud, and their necklaces are also less ornate than the women's.In one's hair one might wear a studded bun or ring that accentuates the costume they are wearing. This type of jewelry can also be worn as bridal accessories should one choose.
