Mathematicians

 

Educational Requirements:

 

If you wanted to work in the Federal Government as a mathematician the minimum requirement is usually a bachelors degree with a major in mathematics.  A job outside the Federal Government usually requires a degree higher than a bachelor’s degree and many people will work towards advance degrees in mathematics or related fields.
           
Whether you want to work in or outside the Federal Government you need other qualifications.  You need to become a mathematician.  To be a mathematician you need to have knowledge about programming computers and also modeling on the computers.  Communication skills also are needed because people need to interact with people who have no extensive knowledge of mathematics.  They need good reasoning skills to identify and analyze the basic principles of technical problems.

 

 

What they do:

 

Mathematicians are one of the oldest types of sciences.  Mathematicians use a theory with algorithms, and the latest technology to solve engineering, and other STEM field jobs.  Mathematicians work in two broad groups.  They are theoretical and applied mathematics. 

Theoretical mathematicians are advance in mathematics.  These workers look to increase the basic knowledge without needing to use practical use.  Many theoretical mathematicians are employed in university faculty, and they dividing their time into conducting research or teaching 

 

Applied mathematicians on the other hand, use different theories and techniques.  People working in industrial research develop methods to sole difficult problems.  They start with easy problems and separate all of the elements and do other stuff to the problem.  They sometimes use computers to analyze and solve complex problems.
