The Fates

Three goddesses who decided the individual fates of the ancient Greeks.

The Fates were the daughters of the goddess Nyx. Their names were Clotho (Spinner), Lachesis (Drawer of Lots), and Atropos (Inevitable). They appeared as three old women, spinning fates like thread. The job of the Fates was to determine the destiny of individuals as they were born.
