Lung cancer is a group of uncontrolled cell growth in parts of the lung. This growth can lead to invasion of tissue and other organs beyond the lungs. This is called metastasisation. Lung cancer is responsible for about 1.3 million deaths world wide. There are three most common symptoms of lung cancer. These symptoms are shortness of breath, coughing, and weight loss. If you have a cough that gets worse or won't go away, you might want to consider seeing a health care provider. Some cures for lung cancer may include, surdery, chemotherapy, and /or radiation.

In the United Kingdom lung cancer is the 2nd most common cancer. Around 38,500 people in the UK are diagnosed with it each year.

Nine out of ten cases or lung cancer is cause my smoking. The more you smoke, the more likely you are to get lung cancer. The length of time you have been smoking matters a lot too. The filtered and low tar cigarettes may not increase the risk so much. Although most smokers cancel this out by taking more puffs that are deeper or smoking more of them.
