The Pyramids of Giza

| The Great Pyramid of Giza, also known as the pyramid of Khufu was built in 2560 B.C. It is believed to have been made for the fourth dynasty king, Khufu. It was the largest man-made object for over 3800 years. There are three known chambers to this pyramid. The lowest chamber which was cut into bedrock is still today un-finished. The king and queen's chambers are higher up in the pyramid. Scientists predict the unfinished chamber originally the king's chamber, but Khufu wanted his chamber higher in the pyramid. The un-finished chamber sat 27.5 meters below ground level. The queen's chamber was the middle level chamber and the smallest chamber stretching 5.74 meters in width, 5.23 meters in length and 4.57 meters in height. The king's chamber is the highest chamber in the pyramid and is 5.25 meters in length, 10.5 meters in width and 6 meters in height. Still today, 5,000 years after the pyramid was made, it still stands tall.
