Safety in 50 years. This piece will be about safety. How will a police officer look like in the future? What new resources of energy will be discovered and how can we control these energy sources? Are we able to control the traffic in such ways there won’t be any accidents anymore? And how do we secure our computers from being hacked by high-tech terrorists? All these questions are being answered in the following paragraphs. Safety on the streets: 50 years from now a lot of technical developments will be made. But not all developments will be for good use. Some developments are being made specifically to harm people. This is where the future police comes in. These police officers will carry high-tech equipment with them so that they can eliminate any threat before it really does harm to anyone. Guns that fire guided ammunition, suits that adapt to the environment it’s colour for camouflage and make the wearer of it 4 times as strong and helmets which have built in night vision and infrared goggles. All of these high-tech devices will help the police departments to fight against terrorism on the streets as efficient as never before. The question remains: How long will it take until we replace humans for robots? Safe energy: (Antimatter) Recently scientists in Switzerland discovered a new energy source. This new energy source is so efficient and so powerful, that one gram of this substance is enough to power a large city for one week. It’s known as antimatter. Antimatter is a substance which is exactly the opposite of matterand it reacts with matter. Matter is all we know in our world like air, water, metal. Everything which surrounds us is matter. Star Trek fans may have heard of this energy before. The Voyager is being powered by antimatter. Although antimatter is highly efficient and very powerful. It is also very dangerous. When terrorists get their hands on this new technology, they can easily threaten with terroristic attacks because a small amount of antimatter can easily do a lot of damage. The purpose of antimatter still is making an efficient and non-polluting energy source. But what happens when terrorists are going to use this technology for bad purposes. Are we going to stop research to antimatter? Safe transport: How will transport in the future look like? Will there be flying cars or maybe our cars will navigate through the city without any touch of ourselves. The only thing we will have to do is tell the computer where we want to go and the computer will calculate the fastest way to get there. Until you’ll get to your destination enjoy a nice glass of champaign or read a book. The computer will get you to where you have to be. The advantage is off course there won’t be any human mistakes anymore. People dying in traffic accidents will drop significantly because of these future cars. And maybe when the road is totally computerized. The word traffic accident will be past tense. Terrorism in the future: All technical problems can be solved. When research is being done to solve these technical failures sooner or later they’ll be solved. The one big problem which occurs when technical development is being made is that high-tech terrorism will make its approach. People will try to hack the system and when that happens the whole system will fall. Nothing will work anymore because everything depends on the A.I. from the computers. The only thing we can do to prevent this to happen is low-tech security. The main computers on which everything depends are only controlled manually. The main computers are being stored in a building which is guarded by hundreds of guards and to gain access to the mainframe 10 different guards have to insert there part of the 50 digit password. This is the best way of preventing the main computers from being hacked.
