The world of the future
Through inventions, innovations and other developments, our world will certainly change, for the good or for the bad. In any case, the next fifty years provide many opportunities for issues to be solved and new ones to be created. We investigated how certain problems of this time could be solved and what new inventions could change our surroundings.
The future of the internet
I think in the future, the use of internet will be different than it is now. There will be many more internet sites than there are now. Right now there are about 2 billion pages on the internet, and the prospect is that in the year 2100 there will be hundreds of billions of internet sites. This will mean that the use of search machines will become much more important.
Also one of the countries that will grow enormously in using the internet, is China. Because right now, there live 1,3 billion people in China, but only 33,7 million people make use of the internet. This is only 2% compared with 55% of America and Europe. And in India only 5 million of the 1 billion people make use of the internet. That’s only 0,5%! Of course this has to do with the prosperity of the western world.
Because these countries will make much more use of the internet than right now, there will also be much more sites in languages which we can’t read. This will mean that on every proper internet site, there will be links with every language you want.
Because internet will become so big, it will be very dangerous if someone wants to use it for the wrong purposes.
For example: if someone puts a mega-virus on the internet, very many companies will have a big problem. They can’t make advertisements anymore on the internet, people can’t find where they are located, etc. But these aren’t the worst problems they will have to deal with. For example, if someone can get into the program of a company, he can rob the company completely. This will have a major effect on the economy of a country. So one single person could make the whole economy of a country crash.
Living under water
In the future the housing shortage will be solved with living under water. There will be enormous glass dome’s under water, which allows the people to look all around into the sea.
Air will be given with air pipes which end in the open air.
You can travel from one dome to another via a kind of submarines, but these are also totally of glass.
The dome’s will be so beautiful and the view into the sea will be so impressive, that many people want to live under water, and less people want to live on the land.
This will have a positive effect on the environment on the land. There will be less air pollution, the north and south poles won’t shrink anymore, but will grow back to normal proportions.
Energy supply in the future
In the future we won’t use oil or gas anymore. We will make use of sunlight, water and wind. Cars, or things that will have replaced cars, will run on water. Just fill your tank with water, and you can drive further than you could with gasoline. Also, the exhaust fumes won’t be damaging to the environment, because they’ll just be water vapour. This means that the water circle won’t change, and we’ll keep the same amount of water on the earth, and we won’t run out of water.
Also all energy will be supplied by natural sources: sunlight, wind and water. There will be made a new kind of windmills, which can produce much more energy, with much less wind.
The sun panels will produce more energy with less sunlight, which, together with wind energy, will make sure that no other source of energy, like oil or gas, will be needed.
