In this final part of the website we'll discuss the assignment and the division of the tasks and our personal opinions about the subject.

The assignment:

The assignment was to make an informative website about the World in 50 years. We had to make a storyline and involve some things we would expect in a future world. Then we had to make the content and build a website, add the content to the website and upload it to thinkquest.

Personal Opinions about the assigment:
Pierre C:

My personal opinion about the project “the world in 50 years” is the following: at first I like the project. Making a website was something new and exciting for me and thinking about the future is very exciting as well. Though I found it hard to motivate the group as a leader. Then in the activity week of period 2 (we got the first assignment in period 1) we heard that we were going to compete in the thinkquest competition. After this my view on the project changed. It became very vague from here, we couldn’t use some things we had been making earlier and there were a lot of  new rules. I personally found making the website very difficult but fun to do. I’ve been working on it for a long time also because I didn’t understand some  parts at first. That made me get into time problems and caused a lot of stress in the last weeks of the project. Though I’m happy I now know how to build a website.

Bernou B:

Unfortunately, I found this project disappointing. When I heard about it I was quite exited, because I find it very interesting to think about the future! But it didn’t turn out as fun as I thought it would be. There was a lot of vagueness during the project. In the beginning of the year we started with the instructions we got, and then suddenly in the 3rd period it turned out that the competition we were participating in, ThinkQuest, included a lot of rules we had to stick to. Then we were told that some things we had done weren’t necessary anymore and all was for (almost) nothing! Mostly in the end the vagueness was frustrating, as close to the end we had to change things, or cut things or even add things in a hurry. I don’t totally blame the project leaders, as we weren’t that serious all the time as well, but I do think it wasn’t arranged properly. This is a shame, as the project could have been very nice and informative, but I didn’t experience it that way most of the times…

Nikan Y:

I think that this project was quite fun and also educative, but it was pity that we couldn’t use anything of our previous project because we had some good stuff from that project. That meant that we had to start all over again. This project is way bigger and it was also harder to do. It was nice that the organization of thinkquest gave us several kinds of software to help us design our site, but unfortunately the software was too complicated and it was not easy for our designer to create a good site. Also the whole situation with licensed pictures kept us from using the materials that we wanted to use , but fortunately we figured out something on that limitation.
Overall the project went pretty good and we found some solutions to the restrictions we had.

Tim H:

The project was to make a website My opinion about this project is quite positive. At first we all thought that is was going to be to difficult and that we could never pull it off. In the beginning it was indeed very difficult, because we didn’t know where to start. But as time went along we started to get the right feeling. Our start was therefore slow and we had a slight time problem at the end. I learned a lot during the project. It has changed my view of the future. The group effort was excellent. Everybody did the thing they were supposed to do. There were almost no arguments in the team. A negative point was that the software was quite difficult, but this was solved because one person in each group got some lessons about the software. So altogether I think it was quite a good project.

Guy W:

When the teacher told us we had to make a website for his subject ,I thought it shouldn't be too hard we've allready made a website once so this should be a piece of cake. But then when we went on it was quite hard to make a decent story and find decent information about this subject. Since we had to make up some things because the subject was the world in 50 years. After a while I found the subject quite interesting ,after we had seen some films about it in class. And it really helped me and my team mates to come up with some ideas on what to put on our site. But then the hard part came, writing the stories which required a lot of imagination. At the end I did like the project
