Aeroplanes

Power!

There are four different types of engines for planes and go from simple propellers to massive jet engines but these days even jet engines are being changed to perform better and for longer.

Propeller Powered

These are the most simple types of engine and have very little modern technology on board. They are rather old but still create enough force to get smaller aircraft off the ground. Large passenger aeroplanes have no chance of getting off the ground with these so they use something larger....

Jet Powered

Jets are extremely powerful and are capable of lifting extreme weight, tom excluded. They use a collosal amount of power but the amount they produce almost balances it. This extra power means they can carry the heavy loads and still go exceptionally fast but some planes want to go faster which means they maybe need one of these....

Supersonic Jet Powered

Supersonic jets are designed for pure speed and boy do they produce alot of it! They can reach speeds faster than sound and don't need much force to get to that speed. The only downside is that they wont be on any passenger planes anytime soon as they're far too exspensive. They're solely used for military purposes. Now for some experimental engines....

Rocket Powered

The first of the experimental engines is a rocket powered engine. These have been around for a while now but are still experimental. They go as fast as rockets but are very unreliable while in use. Power from these engines is nearly the same type as the ones found in space craft. Sometimes though speed is maybe taken a bit too far....
