Introduction : Colors and Culture
Culture without colors—black and white—is simply unimaginable. Looking back across the centuries, exploring the heritage of the past and fingering the folklore that integrates today with yesterday is like drowning in a whirlwind of colors, because no matter which part of the world you turn to, the colors continue to weave a path of sheer artistry throughout the culture. Think back to what we now know about colors, in terms of science. Do you really think that is how our ancestor’s saw the world? When a rainbow stretched across the blue ceiling, do you think the people stopped to measure angles and so on? No. Physical science may be inseparable from the color theory, but in the mystic world of the past; when the heavens were traced by the eye alone, science fades and simple existence becomes magical; colors nothing but sensational phenomena.
