Patriot Act/Civil War
The Patriot Act:
The Patriot Act is a tool that the government uses to monitor all of us. The reason for this is because they need to check on any possible attacks or anything that can affect our country. The Patriot Act was made after the September 11, 2001 terrorist attack. The Civil War:
The Civil War: The Civil War began in 1861 due to all the slavery, economic issues and other things that both the South and the North could not come to an agreement. The Southern States fought the Northern States because the South wanted slavery to continue while the North believed it was wrong and that it should end. HOW THIS RELATES TO COMIC BOOKS:
In a special comic book, the creators decided to make a special storyline about how the Patriot Act was involved in our lives. In this comic book, some superheroes were against being under the vigilance of the government. Instead of the Patriot Act it was called The Superhero Registration Act. In this case Iron Man, along with Mr. Fantastic and Yellowjacket wanted to help the president and convince the other superheroes that they should all become registered superheroes. On the other hand, Captain America, Hercules and Goliath did not want to be registered so they all got into a big fight that cost Captain America life. Captain America was shot multiple times.
