"In the beginning, there were algae, but there was no oil…then, from algae came oil. Now, the algae are still there, but oil is fast depleting. In the future, there will be no oil, but there will still be algae. So, doesn't it make sense to explore if we can again get oil from algae?"
The purpose of this webpage is to inform our young audience and elders alike about the only alternative fuel source capable of replacing all our gasoline and petroleum oil needs that are costing the U.S. billions of dollars each year. Algae Biodiesel, a cleaner burning fuel than gasoline and petroleum, emits less Carbon dioxide when burned and can be made from an abundant source; algae. This alternative fuel source is extremely important because it will help to decrease the amount of Carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases that contribute to global warming. How will Algae Biodiesel be able to do this? Algae are photosynthetic organisms that feed only on carbon dioxide, water, and use very little sunlight. This amazing ability, photosynthesis, enables it to counteract the excess Carbon dioxide emission from the burning of fossil fuels and other greenhouse gases. Algae biodiesel is going to be the next big fuel source for all our transportation need and beyond because it is economical, reproducible, environmentally friendly, and more than you think! With gas prices now sky rocketing to bazillion dollars and running low, algae is fairly simply to make and will be a big hit for those companies already working to mass produce it. If you want to know more of how Algae Biodiesel is made check out the "How To Make Algae Biodiesel" section and you'll soon learn that algae will makes you less grouchy over high gas prices!
