The only written record of Atlantis exists in Plato's writing. This myth is a story passed down from the son of Dropides (Critias), to his grandson who was also known as Critias. Dropides had gotten the story from his distant relative but close friend, Solon. Solon was a lawgiver, poet, and Athenian traveler who received it from Egyptian priests. The location of Atlantis is still a mystery. In fact it really depends on what you think, for many locations that people come up with are based on what they believe.
Though many people do not believe in the existence of Atlantis, the people who do don't just get it from a premonition (hunch). Many of the characters from Plato's Timaeus and Critias have existed in Athens...
One day near the Bahamas, Dr. Ray Brown went diving with his friends but got lost. He was swimming around trying to find them, but instead he found a strange pyramid. It's surface was smooth and mirrorlike, and it drew Dr. Ray Brown to it. He soon found an entrance and went inside, there he found the fire crystal. What first caught his eye was a rod in the ceiling that had a point made of red gems. Right below it was where he found the crystal nestled in a pair of metal carved bronze-colored, life-sized hands. As he swam out, he heard a voice telling him never to come back...
A few years later, Ray Brown presented his crystal. But with the crystal came many strange happenings...
When a beam of light hits a specific area on a crystal, it is amplified when it bounces off. Using this idea, the Atlanteans were able to use the crystals as an energy source.
Using other elements, the Atlanteans were able to form different kinds of crystals that did different things. Some crystals healed, while others were used to grow things. They were able to break down molecule structures and rebuild them in new formations. Thus they could make replications of the same crystal, or use crystals as building materials. The Atlanteans were also able to speed up crystal growth and brought on crystals up to twenty-five feet.
Crystals can transmit energy over far distances, maintain the same amount of power, or even transport elsewhere. Energy was passed on from pyramid to pyramid, and when one became weak another transmitted power over to it. One theory is that the Bermuda Triangle incidents happened because of the Fire crystals that still trigger dematerializations.
Small crystals had color infused in and were used for many different purposes. Using the crystals, people were able to travel at unimaginable speeds. Crystals were even used as a form of communication! Myths say that the Atlanteans formed magnetic force fields using the crystals, even developing psychic abilities. Crystals also were said to have increased the mental abilities. Crystals were used in meditation in everyday life, where eighteen to twenty crystals were laid out in a circle with a white quartz in the middle and the meditator held the white crystal in their hands.

Larger crystals controlled larger areas. Fire crystals were the central broadcasting system of a city. Smaller crystals were used in towns, structures, and homes. The power source was the sun, moon, earth's energy grid system, and other pyramids. Rooms made of crystal were like burial places for the "Final Transcendence".
At first, the crystals were used for spiritual reasons and basic necessities, since the early Atlanteans were peaceful. Similar to that of radiowaves, the crystals were later used as broadcasters, sending images or voices accross great distances. Even temperatures could be controlled from the fire crystals. Just like many other great civilizations, the greed for power brought Atlantis down. The crystals' powers were increased at dangerous rates, and the power soon sunk Atlantis. Some say that the power was so strong that the crystals even shifted the Earth's axis.
