Herat
The city of Herat is in Northwestern Afghanistan. It has been a settlement for 2,500 years. The city is the main city on the Herat-Kandahar road. It has been fought over by Alexander the Great in 330 B.C. It became a center of Persian art and learning but mostly education. Herat is also a trading center for grains, fruit, vegetables, and sheep. The Friday Mosque is also located in the city of Herat. The Friday Mosque is like a temple. Herat has many ancient buildngs.
