Countries that contain these lost cities are Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador. These countries made up Mesoamerica. The Mayans lived in this cluster of modern day countries. They grew corn, beans, and other vegetables. The area that they lived in was perfect for this type of agriculture. Most Mayans didn't even know that there were other cities just like theirs that had the same basic beliefs, cultures, and architecture.
