Making of a healthy Food Rainbow
The activity was done in a lower class were in children were given coloring activity sheet of fruits and vegetables arranged in the shape of a rainbow. The movie shows healthy food rainbow made with forty seven activity sheets .
Sorting fruits and vegetables by their color-
a number of fruits and vegetables were given to the children. They were asked to sort them based on the color. Children also made a list of these food items based on the common color it had.
Dipping the cut vegetables in water colors and making images with its impression. Children made images of many things that were hard to imagine. We gave even prices to children who could do it beautifully well.
A quiz was conducted based on our food. Their general awareness about food were tested.
Vegetable Carving-
another activity on food which the children thoroughly enjoyed was this. Can You imagine a snowman with radish and a goldfish with carrot?
Healthy food rainbow
Ever thought of celebrating a festival with fruits and vegetables. That's what the children did when they celebrated "Pongal" a harvest celebrated in the month of January. Next time they might celebrate their birthdays with these food items.
