The nobles were the highest in the social pyramid. Since they were the richest, they owned lots of property with houses. Then, the merchants come after. They were rich, but not as nearly rich as the nobles. They made money by having businesses. Then, the middle class comes next who are people who had shops and people who were smart. The lower part of the social pyramid were the ordinary people like people who had jobs in the city and the poor were last.
The upper class were the ones with the good education. Most of them studied humanistic ideas. The middle class and the lower class got educated, but they're education wasn't as good as theirs. The upper clas was involved with music, literature, and art. The women in the upper class mostly really did activities they liked such(writing, playing music, and painting and drawing). They would really only go out for things such as buying food at a market place and going to a cathedral. When they stayed home, they would look after their house, especially the children . Most of the merchants and the traders were middle class. The lower class was made up of the poor, which was the largest number and they worked for a living.
